Initially turning them down, he relented in 1994 and opened a satellite of his original salon in the Four Seasons Resort. Exposé International was voted "One of the Best Salons in Santa Barbara" in The Santa Barbara Independent four years in a row, and Elle Magazine named the Kevin Charles Salon one of the "Top Ten Salons in the Nation." He has received press accolades in People Magazine, Vogue, Elle, Los Angeles Magazine, and many local publications, as well as radio and television recognition. He has trimmed the tresses and styled celebrities for In Style, Vogue, Elle, Glamour, Vanity Fair, and Self magazines. In addition Kevin has been hand picked as an official hairdresser of the Academy Awards each of the last seven years, and also does hair for the MTV Awards, the Emmys, and the Golden Globe presentations. Kevin, best known for his streamlined, common sense approach to beauty, cuts and styles hair to perfectly suit the look, personality and lifestyle of each individual. In 1998, Kevin helped his personal friend, noted New York / Beverly Hills hairdresser Frédéric Fekkai open his salon, Frédéric Fekkai Beauté de Provance located on Rodeo Drive in the heart of Beverly Hills. Kevin worked in the salon and assisted with training of the staff.
